Dr. Heather Shuey is a graduate of Kansas State University and has been practicing in the Kansas City area since 1999.
She has served as an Associate Veterinarian in several practices and was a Medical director for a large Veterinary Hospital. While she loved clinic work, she wanted to help people outside the clinic setting as well. Pet Calls came into being after a friend asked Dr. Shuey to do a euthanasia for a sick pet where he was most comfortable – at home. This lead to the realization that house call visits can reduce the stress for many pets needing sick or wellness visits, as well as helping those who are unable to bring their furry friends to the clinic.
In addition to her civilian Veterinary work, Dr. Shuey has proudly served as an Army Veterinarian since 1999, providing care for military Working Dogs in all branches of the military. She has deployed three times to the Middle East and completed numerous humanitarian missions to South America and the Caribbean. Dr. Shuey shares her home with both her daughter and several furry kids.
